The Art Of The Spiritual is a programme of wonderful music mainly from the African American Canon. This genre of music is known by many names including Slave Songs, Songs of Sorrow, and Songs of Liberation, but is most commonly known as Spirituals. The evening will include African and South Asian spirituals sung in mother tongue. There will be many familiar well-known songs and quite a few surprises await you!
Your ticket at £25.00 includes refreshments of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks served with delicious homemade cakes.
We will also have stalls of work by Black Artisans ranging from books to jewellery, handmade soaps to cosmetics also jewellery and gifts for men!
