Tisana, Ruhab, and Haleema are three normal girls. They have a lot to say about family, faith, the world, growing up, their bodies, other people’s bodies, and much more. They’ve got plenty of time to talk. They’ve been kidnapped.
Theresa Ikoko’s funny, passionate and explosive new play won the Alfred Fagon Award and the George Devine Award in 2015. Theresa is a Talawa Writers’ Programme Playwright and her play Normal was previously staged at Talawa Firsts 2014 before being produced at HighTide.
Directed by Elayce Ismail (The Rise and Shine of Comrade Fiasco), Girls makes its world premiere this autumn at HighTide, followed by a London premiere at Soho Theatre.
