Spoken Words, Real Talk is a debut book featuring a selection of poetry from writer Mimi Rose.
Each piece is accompanied by a musical suggestion, which Mimi Rose feels enhances the emotions within the words. The heartfelt collection intends to leave readers with notions of hope and is divided into four sections – Race, Health, the World and the Future.
“Beautiful poetry collection…so much resonated with me”
Sophia A Jackson | Afridiziak Theatre News
The collection of spoken poetry was created during an unusually glorious British Summer, where words began to flow from Mimi Rose onto the page. Words that had to be voiced and discussed; Black woman times, chronic illness times, racist times, present times, fantastic times, painful times, family times… It became a remembering season, with soul-healing moments coming to light.
Spoken Words, Real Talk is available to buy in E-book and paperback format from
Amazon, Foyles, Waterstones, Able Books, Barnes and Noble and Indigo.
