Niki Eunice Kinzonzi joined Intermission Youth Theatre in 2024. She’s all about getting her nails done, travelling, recording, making blogs, and taking pictures—she is the interest! The summer workshops were a game-changer, especially stage combat and Wendy Richardson’s session. Whilst working on Much Ado About Nothing Remixed it’s been great seeing groups A & B come together. Honestly, every moment has been a highlight. Watching our facilitators evolve alongside us has been amazing, and she realized she not as shy as she once thought. The process has also brought out her flaws, leading to some deep self-reflection. Niki is looking forward to the journey they’re all on,  and knows it’ll be worth it.

About Much Ado About Nothing Remixed

“Catch Flights, Not Feelings”

Don P and the Aragon boys – Benedick and Claudio – have been invited to the party island of Messina, by promoter Leon. Also, on the island (unbeknown to Leon) is his younger sister Hero and fiery cousin Beatrice. When Claudio locks eyes with Hero, it’s love at first sight but with “zero game” he must persuade Don P to help him win her love.

However, DJ, (Don P’s illegitimate and jealous sibling) plots to deceive Claudio into believing Hero is unfaithful and chaos ensues. Meanwhile, Don P, convinced that Benedick and Beatrice are secretly in love, musters up a plan to get them together…. “Much Ado About Nothing? Nah, this one’s a lot fam…”

Will Claudio get his girl? Will DJ ruin the party? Will Beatrice and Benedick hook up?

It’s all happening in Messina, the land of sun, sea and socials!

Much Ado About Nothing Remixed closes soon – what has been your favourite part of this journey?
It’s unfortunate that we have to catch a flight back from Messina on Saturday. There are so many things that I have enjoyed, and it is hard to single out my favourite part. In general, I would say the growth and development of each other has been beautiful to see. People finding things for their characters, their personal development and more.

What have you learned from being part of this production?
Something that I have taken is learning to be around many personalities, characters and beliefs. Usually, I would be surrounded by people who share many of the same interests and beliefs as myself. However, Intermission allows you to be around so many diverse people. You start to learn new things.

If you could invite absolutely anyone, who would you love to see you in Much Ado About Nothing – dead or alive?
Keanu Reeves

Who has had the biggest impact on your career so far that you would like to thank now on this interview?
Firstly, I would like to say thank you to God—and secondly, my parents, siblings – my family. They have been a great support for me. A  big shout out to Tré L Medley, who has had an impact in a short time. There are many people to name as I am a product of the proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”. Thank you to my friends who believe me and have attended the show. Nana, Darren and everyone – I am grateful.

Please share your earliest memory of going to the theatre when you were younger and who took you?  The first theatre production I attended was a pantomime/musical on the Isle of Wight. I was on a residential trip with my primary school. As soon as I entered the building, I was blown away by the lights and the aesthetic. The show was quite hilarious. The next day, we took part in a workshop with the actors.

Why should we come and see the show?
I am in it that’s why. Joking. A reason why you should come to the show is to be part of a beautiful story that Shakespeare has written but made personal. I believe that by watching the show you will find characters that you relate to or that remind you of people you know. On top of that, we have worked extremely hard, whether it’s the people on stage or backstage to bring this story to life. We are waiting to see you – hurry up the tickets are selling out.
